HOLA Family,

I wanted to discuss the ways that we study the bible. Do you study your bible at home? Is is easy for you to understand the scriptures, or is it like reading Greek..

...the reason I wanted to talk about this subject is because, God wants us to get more into his word. That is why we go thru the same test over and over again. It is because we do not have enough BIBLE, or WORD in us to remind us of who we are and that God..of the heavens and the earth is in control of all, that we dont have worry or fret...just rest in his word. (didnt mean to preach)

So how do you get your word in you......

this thread is a suggestive thread...please feel free to list all ways u study God's Word..becuase u may bless someone else  Wink

One way I study is by having my regular King James Version, and an Amplified Bible right beside it to break down what I may not understand.

Yup I feel you. Since I have been a member at FFCC for the past five years I have also gotten very used to the NIV version..cause thats what Pastor uses...so I have my Paralla(sp) bible w/KJV & Amplified...then a whole nother bible in the NIV version out just to read one chapter!  Cheesy

One way I study is by using study guides. They have so many diffrent types of ways to study the bible or a subject within the bible. You can go to any online bible site and type in study guides....the possibiltes are endless.

Well, I have a living bible that is broken down to the t.  I uses the King James version because that is the bible my pastor uses.  so when I don't understand what I am reading I pick up my living bible.  I wish there was a way that this family can come together and study thae bible online as a group like a study group.  I know ther is a way and GOD is going to reveal it to one of us on this website.  This is one thing that I am going to have to do more of.  I ead the bible, but I want it to stick to me like glue but you know I am a babe in christ and I know I cannot learn everything at one time.

Another way I study is by listening to the scriptures read aloud...online of course....because sometimes I dont want to read the bible I want to have it read to me...(I know Im spoiled  Undecided) But when it is read, it is read with excitment and feeling. I get goosebumps when I hear them reading the devil parts.  Lips Sealed

Im sure any bible website will have this option to read the bible aloud. It comes in diffrent versions too. If you need a referral site let me know.

That's a good think to do, Confess your faults one to another.
Good, Dege.  Keep praying, the Lord will help you.

I agree with Shay.  It is very big of you to admit that.  We as christians aren't always so ready to admit or own shortcomings.  I am confident however you will be just fine in this area due to your genuine concern.  You are truly putting II Corinthians 13:5 into action.

You mentioned something about online bible study.  I suggest that you somehow teach an online bible study on a weekly basis.  I would surely attend and support you.  This would force you to get into your Word more regularly.  When I was first asked to become a teacher,  it was something I desired.  I was learning soooo much as a student and I enjoyed just being there.  However, when I became a teacher I learned sooo much more because I had to be ready and prepared to answer questions  Wink Wink
