I received an email from Essence Magazine w/R. Kelly's acquittal. I don't know if he did what he was accused of or not, never saw "the tape," and never plan on seeing it either. I do know that the most important thing that he can do immediately is get his life right with GOD........oh, and perhaps produce another gospel album, b/c da brotha does have a great voice and he really needs to use it towards a work for Christ. His U Saved Me album off of the Happy People/U Saved Me double cd album is awesome tho! Does the AGLFam have any comments? Peace and many blessings, KEJA!  |

I don't know if he was actually guilty or not, but apparently the prosecution didn't have enough evidence to prove he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But that doesn't mean he's innocent. That's something that he is going to have to answer to with God if he did do it. I do strongly believe if he is guilty of having relations with an underage child, he should definitely be punished. It really disturbed me though to hear that people actually cheered upon hearing he was aquitted. I doubt they would be cheering if it had been their young daughter.
However, I do think God has blessed him with a great gift of creativity in music and I pray that he will start to use it more and more for God's glory. I know there are plenty of people out there who said they will never support him by buying his music and that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but my thing is, there are plenty of artists/performers/celebrities out there who have done wrong/are doing wrong. At some point we have all done something at least once in our lives that we aren't proud of. Praise God for his mercy and forgiveness.

I saw a small clip of the tape on CNN News and to me, it definitely looked like R. Kelly. The prosecution also knew that he had a reputation of dealing with young girls, i.e. Aaliyah. According to records, R. Kelly and Aaliyah were married when she was 15 years old. He has had numerous accusations of sexual activity with underage girls.
I hope and pray, that if he is guilty in his heart of these charges, that he will seek the help that he needs to deliver him.

I agree, it appears to be him however, who are we to judge. Like keke said, he has to deal with God with that issue at this point. I believe the brotha has an awesome talent and that it should be use more towards the work of God. Prayer is definately need for him.

r kelly is to r&b what kirk franklin is to gospel. alot of songs ppl sing nowadays,and back in the days,you'd think they wrote it,but if you look at who wrote it,or who produced it,its r kelly..and it seems like all his songs are like outta everybody else league,he thinks of things NOBODY would think of,and he been doin this for like 20 years,str8. kirk franklin,same thing,dude is a freakin genius.he writes songs for many other ppl too,and on top of that he;s a composer,which means he decides how his beats gonna sound,and what instrument is in each song.who would of ever thought somebody,an ordianary church guy can get ppl who hate gospel music to listen to it,you kno how many ppl i kno who cant name but a few gospel songs,dont listen and would never listen,but they kno almost all of kirk franklin songs,and besides that,juss listen to them and his albums(the last one didnt really do it for me)and you can juss feel the spirit movin thru your body and the whole room.then when they came out with lean on me,him and kelly together,look at what happend,two musical genius',both of diff genre's,and they make a gospel song that goes str8 to the top of every music chart....so in my opinon,kirk franklin=r kelly,only on a music scale.they both are super talented |
