Purpose
1 These are the proverbs of Solomon.
He was the son of David and the king of Israel.
2 Proverbs teach you wisdom and train you.
They help you understand wise sayings.
3 They provide you with training and help you live wisely.
They lead to what is right and honest and fair.

God Makes Solomon Very Wise
29 God made Solomon very wise.
His understanding couldn't even be measured.
It was like the sand on the seashore.
People can't measure that either.
32 He spoke 3,000 proverbs. He wrote 1,005 songs.
34 The kings of all of the world's nations heard about how wise Solomon was.
So they sent their people to listen to him. |
