Hi! Around this time of the year, I usually make chili once, or even twice a week. I normally use:
1 pkg -McCormick chili seasoning mix
1 lb ground beef or ground chuck
1 can chili beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can diced tomatoes w/ green chilies
1 cup water
salt to taste
different seasonings like chili powder, curry, etc.
(Most of the time, I double the recipe because it's just never enough).
Simmer on low heat for one hour. I like mine w/ saltine crackers and shredded cheese, or even topped on a baked potato w/ sour cream.
I love chili, so does anyone have any other chili recipes or other chili seasoning mixes? I make this one every time. I get no complaints, but sometimes....change is good.
Thanx a million! Be blessed!

Insted of chili I make Sante Fe Soup

2 pounds of ground chuck  (I some use ground turkey)
1 large onion, diced
1 can black beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans
1 can shoe-peg corn
1 can Rotel-tomatoes ( I use the spicy )
1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 package of orginal Ranch Dressing mix
2 packages  of Taco seadonings (I use hot)

Brown chuck or turkey with onions, drain set aside.  Because I like mine spicey I add, crushed red peppers and jalopenos peppers to taste.

Place all other ingredients in a large stock pot add meat and simmer.

I usually put in my crock pot and let simmer on low  all day while at work.

Top with grated chees of your choice and enjoy

I think I will try that one because it's got a spicy kick to it.

I love to cook and experiment with food, and I have made my own chili before, I like to try different chili powders from the grocery store and see which one I like best, also hot sauce.

Hmmm. I will have to try the hot sauce.......but I have diced up a little jalapeno peppers and threw them in for an extra kick. I learned that curry powder adds kick too.

A good hot sauce is actually for hot wings. Its not too watery, its saucy> I tasted it at a woman's retreat I recently went to and it is the absolute BEST hot sauce ever, I got to oask one of the women at my church what it was, it's that good.
